Math and Science Project

The Research and Educational Planning Center (REPC), located in the College of Education, University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) has been requested by the Nevada Department of Education for the development and implementation of a process to ensure accountability and consistency of projects funded through the Nevada Math Science Partnership (NVMSP) initiative.  The NVMSP program has identified five major categories that should be addressed in all projects funded through the MSP initiative:
  1. Professional Development
  2. Collaboration with Higher Education
  3. Lifelong Learning
  4. Math and Science Standards
  5. Technology Integration
The major goal for this project will be the development of a Standardized Evaluation Plan for use by all NV MSP grantees.  It is important to note, however, that this Standardized Evaluation Plan should be integrated, as a minimum, into other evaluation activities developed specifically for each project by each grantee.  That is, each NV MSP grantee will provide their own project evaluation to guide the annual assessment of progress and measure the impact of the effort. The evaluation should provide evidence of strengths and weaknesses of the effort being implemented.  The evaluation should also be designed to respond to the need to analyze both qualitative and quantitative data to determine the effectiveness of the project in contributing to positive institutional changes and student academic outcomes REPC tasks for the development of a Standardized Evaluation Plan will include:
  1. Development of standardized data collection procedures
  2. Development of standardized data analyses procedures
  3. Development of a standardized reporting format
