Inclusive Post-Secondary Education
The goal of this project is to create, within the University and Community College System of Nevada, the opportunity for people with developmental disabilities to have an inclusive college experience. Postsecondary education offers a time of maturing and job interest exploration to students. While people with physical disabilities have been increasingly included and accommodated in postsecondary education, people with developmental disabilities in Nevada usually do not have the opportunity to attend college and/or other postsecondary education. The goal of our project will be to build capacity within the UCCSN to offer support to students with developmental disabilities who want to attend college and the instructors who teach them.
